What's the difference between Smart Clipper and AI Explainer?
Smart Clipper starts from an existing video (file or YouTube link) and pulls short clips out of it. AI Explainer starts from a written idea and creates an animated video from scratch, with scenes, voice and captions. Both live in the same ClipOnIt account.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. ClipOnIt's Free plan includes 40 minutes of video per month (2 videos of up to 20 minutes each), with a watermark and no credit card. Watermark-free export starts with Starter at $29/month.
How much does ClipOnIt cost?
ClipOnIt costs $0 (Free, 40 minutes of video per month), $29/month (Starter, 8 hours of video per month, API and MCP), $49/month (Pro, 15 hours, Premiere XML) or $149/month (Business, 40 hours, 3 seats). No credits; unlimited clips per video. Yearly billing costs 10 months. Prices in USD.
Can I post directly to TikTok?
TikTok Remix is in early access: direct posting is pending TikTok approval and depends on your account permissions. Meanwhile, download your videos in 9:16 and post them wherever you like.
Does ClipOnIt work with ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes. ClipOnIt ships an MCP server with more than 80 tools and a REST API described in OpenAPI 3.1: Claude or ChatGPT can import a video, pick the moments, reframe, caption and export. Available from the Starter plan ($29/month).
Why hours instead of credits?
Because a credit does not tell you what you will pay. ClipOnIt counts the hours of video you import: 8 h a month on Starter, 15 h on Pro, 40 h on Business, with as many clips and exports as you want for each video. No melting balance, no surprise on the invoice.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, in one click from the Billing page, with no commitment or fees. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
What happens to my videos?
They stay private. On paid plans your clips, exports and transcripts stay available while the subscription is active; the source video is kept for 30 days. On the free plan everything is removed after 7 days. You can also delete a video at any time, along with its clips and exports.
Where is the data hosted?
ClipOnIt hosts videos on Hetzner servers in the European Union (Finland). On the free plan everything is deleted after 7 days; on paid plans the source video is kept for 30 days and clips for as long as the subscription is active. Deletion on request at any time.
